Position Summary:

The Revenue Audit Specialist is responsible for the accounting of daily audit revenue from all guest charges, Food & Beverage, other outlets, and third parties. This position performs all daily uploads and imports from our POS systems into the daily audit. Verifies the accurate posting of room revenue, package elements, statistics, taxes, and 3rd party billing, all F&B and Retail outlet sales. Ensures daily income is posted to the general ledger after balancing with daily activities. Balances all cash, credit card payments and room charges to sales. Prepares Daily Revenue Report to end users and owners. The most important characteristic of our team is that we love inspiring lasting memories for our guests. Essential Functions:

  • Shows initiative and problem solving for all POS systems
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Night Audit by verifying all revenues – Rooms, F&B, Spa, Retail, Golf
  • Review Night Audit Aloha Interface reports for accuracy before preparing daily revenue import file.
  • Audit banquet tickets and reconcile to banquet event orders (BEOs).
  • Review and settle all open checks in the POS systems.
  • Reconcile credit cards and gift cards daily; bring discrepancies to the attention of the Accounting Manager.
  • Review and analyse all adjustments.
  • Compile information for audit packs – verify non-printed reports were saved by Night Audit the previous night.
  • Ensure that Guest Ledger, City Ledger and Advance Deposits are balanced to the General Ledger daily.
  • Complete month-end accounting procedures as specified, including monthly reports.
  • Assists Departments with any guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Carry out general office work such as handling routine correspondence, answering telephones and filing documents.
  • Assists in the performance of monthly and annual inventories as appropriate.
  • Ensures full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, & procedures.
  • Maintains financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls.
  • Attends regularly scheduled meetings accounting meetings as well as occasional departmental meetings with Front Services, Food & Beverage, and Sales.
  • Participate in internal, external, and regulatory audit processes and ensure compliance with SOPs.

Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • The ideal candidate is a highly effective accounting professional with outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, with excellent communication both verbal and written.
  • A minimum of 2 years accounting experience in a food and beverage and/or hotel setting is required.
  • Exceptional communications skills and commitment to providing excellent service to guests.
  • Excellent computer skills required including Excel, Word, financial software, and familiarization with a hotel PMS system.
  • Experience with Springer Miller System, Shift 4, Aloha F&B point of sale is a plus.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
