Summary

The Parent, Family, and Community Engagement and Governance Manager (PFCE) position ensures family services staff develop supportive, professional, and strength-based relationships with families that promote and support family growth and economic mobility. Duties include overseeing cultural competence, case management, crisis intervention, goal development, and vocational, informational, and referral services to families.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Program Management (60 %)

  • Provide expertise and implement on-going monitoring procedures.
  • Obtain and share knowledge of resources in the community.
  • Teach the Family Credential course for all family advocates and other staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with other coordinators, parents, and managers in the development and implementation of the Family and Community Engagement Plan for the agency.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures that monitor the quality-of-service delivery to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor all child and family data and utilize this database to formulate electronic tracking systems.
  • Work collaboratively with management team to support comprehensive and holistic services to children and families.
  • Provide the Policy Council (and all parent groups) training on their rights and responsibilities, including the organization of meetings with management and the Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with the team on the annual update/completion of the Community Needs Assessment.
  • Collect and utilize data to make recommendations for program goals and objectives.
  • Cultivate community partnerships in the fields of education, health, mental health, employment, housing and financial literacy for family referral services.
  • Oversee the completion of in-kind forms for the program.
  • Oversee the implementation of the program’s selected parenting curriculum and ensure training is completed.

Supervisory Responsibilities (20%)

  • Manage 4+ employees.
  • Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of program functions to ensure that family partnerships are developed with each family.
  • Ensure that social services staff assist parents in developing advocacy skills and identifying community resources to support the education of their children.
  • Ensure the responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities of all subordinates in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws.
  • Hire, onboard, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Identify and provide capable management succession opportunities and plans.

Other (20%)

  • Attend meetings, trainings, professional development, etc. as needed or requested.
  • Assist in special projects as related to Early Head Start.
