General Summary

We are looking for a motivated individual to support manufacturing and operations management in day to day activities including but not limited to: Work-flow Prioritization with Manufacturing Floor Supervisor and Production Control, development and maintenance of Work Order routings/operations/work centers, development and subsequent training of Assembly Aids, special processes and Manufacturing fixtures and tooling, maintenance of working levels of all materials and consumables for the Manufacturing Dept., proposal support for Manufacturing labor hours. Interfaces with internal customers with the physical and administrative tasks involved in the distribution of materials and parts including data entry on the shop floor. Coordinate with Operations Management and Quality in the handling and disposition of non-conforming material transactions from WIP; interact with planning, purchasing and inventory control to facilitate shop floor material movement, work order completion, accuracy and problem solving.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act on directions from Operations management and in coordination with PC Planners and Manufacturing Floor Supervisor to ensure Shop Floor Priorities of WIP within individual work centers is executed.
  • Maintain, development work order routings & operations to support all manufacturing work orders and rework order requirements.
  • Coordinate with Operations management, purchasing and planning to ensure accuracy of work order material issues and shortages in WIP.
  • Provide maintenance of existing work instructions as well as the development and implementation of new or improved work instructions and processes within the manufacturing dept.
  • Coordinate with the PC Planning team and Mfg Supervisor and leads in ensuring the timely flow of material/parts from inventory to the production builds and the flow of finished goods from Manufacturing to Stock to delivery.  
  • Coordinate with purchasing the use of suppliers for outside processing of box builds, cable and harness assembly builds, PCBA builds. Mechanical experience with supply chain is a plus, but not required.
  • Actively participate in team activities and the accomplishment of team goals.   
  • May serve on cross-functional teams to address key operational issues.
  • Interface with Quality and Inventory control for all non-conforming material issues on production hardware.

Job Specifications

Degree is preferred, but not required with appropriate equivalent experience and knowledge in the key areas required. Ten or more years’ experience in all phases of production and development of electronic (PWBAs, Harnesses, Cables) & electro-mechanical parts and assemblies, in a controlled environment, with an emphasis on wiring & cable assemblies, interface fixtures, preferably in a high tech environment. 

The position requires a solid working knowledge of MRP systems and Master Production Schedules as well as experience working in a quick-turn, developmental assembly & test environment.  Prior experience in an environment that builds complex wire and harness assemblies is a must, along with shop floor operations and processes a necessity. Ability to identify and act on priority workload.

Physical Demands *

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
