Position Summary: As the Facilities / Engineering Manager at Edgewood Tahoe, you have the overall responsibility to assist the Director of Engineering in the day to day operation as well as supporting other building and property assets as well as the infrastructure of Edgewood Company. This is a “hands on” job, working with the engineers as well as other administrative duties of the department. This Manager position is responsible for direct supervision of the Engineering team. Responsible for approving daily labor, staff scheduling, assuring work orders and preventative maintenance completion and quality is in compliance with department and company standards. Conduct property walkthroughs and inspections to maintain the highest-level property condition and safety standards. Schedule outside vendors as needed and follow Purchase Order guidelines and keep purchasing within budget. Essential Functions:

  • Order and manage necessary supplies. Ensure workers have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs. Purchase order guidelines are followed.
  • Monitor the work order and preventative maintenance programs to assure timely completion.
  • Inspect public and back of the house areas, equipment, and work areas to ensure Edgewood Properties are maintained at the highest standards and conformance to applicable codes and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise team member’s ability to follow loss prevention policies to prevent accidents and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with work orders and guest follow up.
  • Inform and/or update the executives, the peers and the subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and manage team members. Manage all day-to-day operations.
  • Assure Proper Scheduling and Conducts Productivity Audits
  • Participate in the management of departments controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Attend meetings and communicates with executives, peers, and subordinates as an effort to improve quality of service.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Recruit, interview, select, hire, and promote team members in the organization.
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure team is properly trained regarding sanitation, equipment handling chemical usage, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure staff is demonstrating Edgewood Standards including following Forbes and iPrefer standards.
  • Perform yearly performance reviews.

  • Keep up dated and post hourly maintenance team member weekly work schedules.
Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • It is a priority that the successful candidate possesses 4 to 6 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or Manager in a hotel environment
  • Working knowledge in all general trades required
  • Proficient knowledge of Building systems and controls
  • Bomi Certification or facility management certifications, including CPO, OSHA 30 card a plus.
  • HOT SOS or comparable work order system experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, communicate, and manage teams is required.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
