EHR Implementation Specialist

This position is the primary person supporting the implementation and go live of new technologies and the active use and engagement of all key technologies post go live so as to support the agency in its overall operations and processes. Technologies include but are not limited to the EHR (hardwire, tablet and phone versions), telehealth applications, data visualization dashboards, and other external data sourcing tools such as the HIE, PDMP, or other. This position reports to the Director of Program and Services Technologies and is instrumental for decision making regarding use and development of technologies to support use of data to drive business and program improvements, ease user workflow, and create an agency wide advanced learning and technology environment.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Effectively design and carry out implementation plans, including go live plans for all program and service lines with any new technology or with existing technology upgrades or enhancements.
  • Actively engage in end user interaction, workflow analysis, design, build, training and on-site and desk top support to implement new technologies and support effective use of existing technologies. .
  • Actively engage in understanding unique program and service business processes to better align technologies with end user and departmental goals.
  • Ensure technologies meet compliance standards and actively work cross departmentally with the compliance department and the IT Department to address confidentiality and HIPAA compliance and mitigate security risks.
  • Work with the Program Leadership team as well as end users and representatives from all departments, service lines and locations to coordinate implementation and go live customized to needs.
  • Engage with end users in order to engage in continuous improvement and evaluation cycles to improve and maximize the technologies fit and ease of use for business needs.
  • Conduct and document program specific workflows.
  • Assist with or develop training plans and deliver training to end users for each prioritized technology application.
  • Function as primary liaison between the vendor of said technology and the end users.
  • Provide regular status reports to the Director of Program and Services Technologies as to end user activation, use, error rate, need for training or need for vendor development to better suit programmatic needs.

Collaborate with program and services teams to evaluate ticket requests, prioritize issues and resolutions and prioritize development needs to improve use and application of the technologies to support business and programmatic

Position Requirements
  • In-depth experience and understanding of workflows related to Service Delivery for IDD, BH and SUD Specialty and Clinic Programs.
  • Previous training and implementation experience with EHR or medical records
  • Understanding of healthcare billing and coding; specialty IDD/BH/SUD preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Communication skills on technical information with all levels of management and end users
  • Experience in work flow analysis
  • Strong organization, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Project Management skills; Project Management Certification Encouraged.
