Tuknik Government Services is hiring a Records SME to work at our customer’s site in Washington, DC. This is a direct, full time position with our company. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

The SME I provides expertise and knowledge in a specific area, such as data science, process engineering, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), or any other area of information technology related to records management. Essential duties include recommending best practices; advising customer in specific area of SME expertise; overseeing the development of technical solutions; reviewing technical documentation; liaising with stakeholders; coordinating work groups; and performing product demonstrations. Must demonstrate analytical thinking, leadership, managerial skills, networking, and excellent presentation and writing skills


Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Examines and evaluates records-management systems to develop new or improve existing methods for efficient handling, protecting, and disposing of business records and information: Reviews records and reports to ascertain media used, reproduction process, or electronic data processing involved.
  • Confers with clerical and supervisory personnel to gather suggestions for improvements and to detect records-management problems.
  • Reviews records retention schedules and governmental recordkeeping requirements to determine timetables for transferring active records to inactive or archival storage, for reducing paper records to micrographic form, or for destroying obsolete or unnecessary records.
  • Evaluates findings and recommends changes or modifications in procedures, utilizing knowledge of functions of operating units, coding systems and filing methods. 
  • A high level of comfort with information technology as it relates to record and information management.
  • To demonstrate exceptional judgment and integrity with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice, considering the legal and business objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects. 
  • To be a strong team player who can work well cross-functionally and gain the respect of all levels of stakeholders.

Working Environment & Conditions:

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time.  The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.  The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
