Driver Recruiter 

Description

PURPOSE.

The position Recruiter, OTR Driver is responsible for managing the candidate experience, ensuring all resources are researched, acted upon and qualified talent promoted through the hiring process. This position will conduct telephone conversations with driver applicants through both inbound and outbound calls with the purpose of maximizing each opportunity to influence employment with USA Truck.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES.

  • Achieve company hiring goals to maintain seated truck count.
  • Seek out, interview and screen applicants to fill existing openings.
  • Must maintain current working knowledge of transportation laws, DOT regulations, and company hiring criteria.
  • Interview, gather, and analyze information skillfully to pre-qualify applicants.
  • Inform potential applicants about facilities, equipment, operations, benefits, and pay.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing phone calls.
  • Maintain strict levels of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Able to promote a culture of trust and safety.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year recruiting experience, customer service or outside sales experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

 

Preferred Skills.

  • Transportation, sales, or recruiting experience.
  • Familiar with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Experience with high volume of phone calls

 

SUPERVISES OTHERS.

  • This position does not supervise others.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS.

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

  • To sit, stand, stoop, kneel and occasionally move up to 20 pounds,
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis,
  • Stamina to sit for extended periods of time, lift or carry printed materials, and
  • Possess vision sufficient to read a monitor, printed text and hand written documents,
  • be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
