Share Email Opening Title Heavy Forklift Operator  Position Heavy Forklift Operator   Location Fontana, CA   Territory   Supervising Manager   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Shift Days   Category Operations   Description Summary / Objective This position operates a heavy forklift machine to move inbound, intercompany and outbound products in a manner that meets both internal and external customer standards for safety, quality and productivity. Essential Functions Follow all safety requirements including ensuring safe set up and use of all equipment Coordinate machine actions with other crew members and other machines in response to hand or audio signals Perform light preventative maintenance and daily inspections of equipment Keep equipment clean and free of debris and trash at all times Prepare, bundle and load product on trailers for delivery Move product as needed within the warehouse Receive shipments and unload product delivering to proper locations Perform quality checks on product throughout the workday Maintain a clean and orderly work area Competencies / Requirements Safety – Complies with all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, standards and practices identifying and correcting conditions as needed Quality – Attentive to detail and accuracy of a job or process to avoid substandard outputs Independence – Developing one’s own way to do things, and guiding oneself with little to no supervision within the scope of his/her accountabilities Dependability - Punctual and fulfills work and time requirements by adhering to work schedule and complies with attendance and leave policies and plans accordingly for absences Work Environment Regular work schedules. However, overtime may be required if necessary. This position works primarily in a partially enclosed warehouse with temperatures affected by outside temperatures. Exposure to outside weather when moving material or finished product. Exposure will include all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. Proper Protective Protection Equipment (PPE) must always be worn.   Position Requirements Experience 3+ years experience in warehouse environment specifically handling product 2+ years’ heavy forklift operation Physical Demands This position is defined as Heavy. Work involves exerting up to 65 pounds of force frequently using any combination of body, hands, fingers, arms, legs, or feet to complete work.
