IT Tech Support Specialist

Job Summary

The purpose of this position serves as a point of contact to the organization for information technology related problems. This position will work with other IT personnel and support a variety of IT systems at various levels of complexity. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with the Yellowhawk Mission and Vision statements.

Essential Job Functions

Knowledge of MS desktop versions and servers: Windows 10, 2016 R2 etc.
2. Support desktops, hardware, telecom, printers, scanners or handheld devices or it may be with software programs.
3. Utilize remote management support tools
4. Track all instances of support by creating IT tickets using ticket-tracking software.
5. Second tier support on tickets that cannot be handled by help desk tech or provide input on tickets when needed.
6. Assists with planning and project management for the design, implementation, and support of technology solutions.
7. Assists with coordination for computer, server, and network equipment purchases and upgrades
8. Excellent customer service skills.
9. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
10. Ability to juggle multiple IT related projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently.
11. Active directory and identity management.
12. Knowledge of common information technologies and systems.
13. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
14. Exhibits active listening techniques, and is open to feedback and continual improvement
15. Support audio and video equipment.
16. Support security Avigilon camera and access badge systems.
17. Assist with RPMS site manager duties.
18. Ability to teach others. Plan and organize instruction to non-technical persons in ways that maximize learning.
19. Professional in dress, speech, and manners.
20. Work closely with clinical application coordinator (CAC) /program staff for development, testing, maintenance and training of new applications.
21. Handles sensitive and privilege information with the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity
22. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

1. Associates degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum three (3) years of successful working experience as a system or network administrator or similar role in Information Technology setting.
OR
2. High School Diploma with four (4) years of demonstrated experience and training that provides the required knowledge to perform the essential job functions
3. Demonstrated excellent customer service experience in a fast-paced help desk or customer contact environment.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work autonomously and with a team.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to document/diagram IT systems and procedures.
7. Certified CompTIA A+ or the ability to become certified within a year.
8. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain insurance requirements to operate General Services Administration vehicles.
9. Must submit to and pass a reference and criminal background check.
10. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Information Technology experience in HealthCare setting.
2. Proficient understanding of networking and infrastructure devices, protocols, services and virtual networking configuration and management.
3. Experience with corporate integration of mobile devices.
4. Experience with backup methodologies.
5. Experience with Firewalls/Switches
