Description

Works with the grounds crew performing various duties that include mowing lawns, raking/blowing leaves, pulling weeds, planting trees and flowers, snow and ice removal, disposing of recycled materials, and collecting trash. Work involves equipment operation, lining athletic fields, fertilizing lawns, installing mulch, tree maintenance, and general grounds work.

 
Position Requirements
  • Have knowledge of and be willing to learn turf management, grounds maintenance and care of large and small woody plants.
  • Licensed or willing to acquire a Pesticide Private Applicator’s License from the PA Department of Agriculture. A requirement as part of George School’s Integrated Pest Management Program.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Possess valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and shop equipment.
  • General grounds maintenance experience and ability to work well with others.
  • Must be in good physical condition with no limitations on physical work and able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
