If you answered yes, Peterson Cartridge has an opening in its Quality Department for a 3rd shift operator for the laser-vision inspection machine. Peterson Cartridge is a manufacturer of brass rifle casings and ammunition designed for long-distance shooters. The company is located in Cranberry Township, just north of Pittsburgh, PA. Hours of work: 11:00 p.m. till 7:30 a.m. You will be the lead QC person on this shift. Peterson Cartridge has a friendly work environment, with helpful co-workers. Duties and Responsibilities Include: Dial-in the Inspection machines so they reject the out-of-spec cartridges and pass the good ones. Keep the machines running so we achieve rate each shift. Use basic hand tools to change the material handling tooling from one caliber to the next. Perform set-up and calibration of the inspection equipment Communicate instructions to machine using computer touch screen. Keep the feeder bowl fed Monitor how the machine is running Diagnose and React to machine faults Use calipers to confirm dimensional correctness of cartridges  Maintain lot-number integrity Perform real-time quality spot checks on production lines   Position Requirements Successful candidates will be non-smokers who have the following experience and skills: Required Experience/Skills Eyesight good enough to inspect small parts for tiny defects, with or without accomodation Able to pass a federal background check, like the one to purchase a gun. Able to lift 35 pounds, with or without accomodation Able to climb a 6-foot step ladder, with or without accomodation Good at problem solving equipment issues Takes initiative to resolve issues and improve performance of equipment  High attention to detail   Desired Experience/Skills/Personal Attributes Good understanding of ammunition calibers and dimensions, like a competitive shooter, ammunition handloader, gun smith, firearms instructor, range safety officer or someone who worked at a gun store. Prior experience in a Quality Control / Quality Assurance department Prior experience running automated equipment Understanding of cameras Warehouse experience   Start earning more for doing something you love!
