HR Generalist

Blue is seeking a temporary Human Resources Generalist position to assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions, processes insurance billing, and assists with new hire onboarding. Performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas including employee relations, employment, recruiting, and benefits. Hours may fluctuate between 30 to 40 hours per week. This position will also focus on:

  • Assists with month-end reconciliation and reporting.
  • Assist HR Leadership with projects as assigned.
  • Handles all incoming mail for the HR Department.
  • Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan. Verifies and reconciles invoices and processes for payment.
  • Oversees all recruitment activities including job postings, background checks and new employee communication. Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Conduct benefits and timekeeper training for new employees.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Follows established company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Sarbanes Oxley controls, Business Ethics and Standard of Conduct, Electronic Communications, Confidentiality and Privacy.
Position Requirements

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Direct experience in human resources preferred.

Education/Certifications/Licenses: A high school degree or equivalent. Some college preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Other Skills: Good problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to arising problems. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; word, excel, power point, etc. and comfort with using data base programs.

Compensation $18.00  
Bondability Employment at Blue Federal Credit Union is contingent upon successful bondability.
