Description

Job Summary:

The Corporate Controller will supervise, monitor and evaluate all day-to-day accounting activities by implementing and maintaining appropriate internal control systems and procedures for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial activity and information.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on management of the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and preparation of account reconciliations; perform month-end variance analysis;
  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances;
  • Navigate complex accounting topics along with revenue recognition, consolidations, and intercompany and shared service allocations;
  • Implement formal accounting policies and procedures that provide the basis for preparing GAAP compliant financial statements and maintain compliance with accounting standards;
  • Manage and control costs across all businesses and divisions; develop and maintain a cost structure which aligns costs with appropriate businesses and divisions;
  • Drive continuous process improvements while focusing on building and maintaining internal controls to drive financial integrity across systems and processes;
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new practices, procedures and systems to improve operating efficiency, reporting capabilities and internal controls;
  • Manage the A/R and A/P operations fostering best in class processes;
  • Accounting cycle management, including month end and year-end closing;
  • Manage cash position and cash forecasting;
  • Coordinate annual financial audits and bank collateral review procedures;
  • Create tools and processes to improve and integrate systems;
  • Perform revenue recognition and cost accrual procedures;
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and other reports including; but not limited to:
    • Revenue and cost comparisons;
    • Quarterly forecasts and annual budgets;
    • Client profitability;
  • Actively participate in process improvement including automation and efficiency projects;
  • Assist in the development of new business by analyzing the feasibility of new programs and advice management of the financials prospects;
  • Assist the CFO with financial projections and analysis of the existing programs and policies; assist with special projects, ad hoc analysis and other areas of finance as needed;

 

 
Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • Strong, relevant academic and professional training: Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting required;
  • Strong foundation in accounting, audit and finance; CPA is required; 
  • 7+ years of related work experience;
  • Solid accounting and reporting experience – solid understanding of GAAP and management accounting;
  • Outstanding analytical skills and facility with numbers and complex structures;
  • Must be comfortable in presenting financial findings to the business leadership and have the ability to make recommendations for change based on variance/ trend analysis findings;
  • Experience working with QuickBooks and/ or Sage Intaact;
  • Superior communication and organization skills;
  • Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions a plus;
  • Advanced MS Office and database skills;
