Job Summary

The Marketing Analyst, Business Intelligence will focus on supporting initiatives within the Business Intelligence department by analyzing data relevant to the marketing strategy and brand of the Pittsburgh Pirates. This role is responsible for building, implementing, maintaining, and refining prescriptive and predictive analysis to be used to drive marketing, brand, and communication strategy. Additionally, the Marketing Analyst, Business Intelligence will help facilitate vendor conversations around important marketing-related initiatives and work closely with marketing and communication leadership to develop and execute marketing strategy analyze brand health, and maximize engagement across all platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, implement, and refine prescriptive and predictive analysis with a primary focus on marketing, brand, and communication strategy.
  • Work with Manager, Quantitative Analytics to analyze model output and quality check to make educated recommendations.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to develop smart, targeted, and effective advertising and communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership, leveraging data to plan and evaluate current, future, and past media campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Marketing Leadership to develop and deploy key marketing dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Quantitative Analytics to explore additional avenues of analysis and automation for projects throughout the organization where applicable.
  • Leverage external resources to analyze brand health and maximize engagement across Pirates platforms.
  • Consult in vendor conversations revolving around important initiatives, as needed.
  • Research emerging statistical methods, algorithms, and tools relevant to the marketing and brand and recommend/implement them where applicable.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports for various projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
 
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in statistics, data science, business analytics, marketing analytics, engineering, applied math, physics, quantitative social sciences, computer science or similar field.
  • Experience with relational database systems and some knowledge of SQL.
  • Proficient with one or more programming languages, preferably Python or R.
  • Proficient at gathering, transforming, and analyzing large complex datasets.

Desired:

  • Experience with media planning evaluation and campaign reporting.
  • Experience with a brand tracking software (e.g. YouGov).
  • Experience with social media data.
  • Experience with an enterprise reporting system, i.e. Tableau.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably Google Cloud.
