Job Brief

Amazing Grace Senior Living is a new contemporary and vibrant Assisted Living and Memory Care community located in Norwood Park, IL. We are excited to be opening our doors and welcoming our first residents in spring 2021. We are currently seeking a professiona. experienced Executive Sous Cef to join our amazing team and play an integral role in our energetic community! The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to manage our full range of dining services and supply three delicious meals per day for residents with attractive variety while maintaining an d enhancing our customers' satisfaction. Additionally, the Executive Sous Chef will enjoy taking time to get to know each resident on a personal basis, incorporating their needs and preferences into the overall dining plan and experience.


  • Prepare and design all food and drinks menus
  • produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Ensures food meets quality standards prior to serving to our residents
  • Plan and direct food preparation
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff's performance
  • Manage all FOH and BOH activities
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately with budget guidelines and census
  • Work with all vendors and suppliers to meet and exceed all production and budgetary goals
  • Comply with and enforce proper health and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Work with department managers on special events and special resident diets
Position Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience an an Executive Sous Chef
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff training and management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiary with industry's best practices
  • Working knowledge of various computer softward programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) a plus
  • BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate
