Success Measures is a leading evaluation resource organization that operates as a social enterprise within NeighborWorks America to provide a range of evaluation services and products to nonprofit organizations, funders, intermediaries and public agencies in the housing, community development, financial capability and health fields, broadly defined. Position Summary:

The focus of this position is a 3-year developmental, equitable evaluation process that Success Measures is conducting for a leading national foundation’s housing grantmaking focused on systems change within the context of the social determinants of health, health equity and racial equity. The Project Associate, Equitable Evaluation is a key part of the project team composed of Success Measures staff and public health, evaluation, housing and communication consultants. The Project Associate will work closely with Success Measures staff and these key consultants to support effective project management, communication, documentation, information management and coordination in the overall evaluation workplan. This includes scheduling and liaison with foundation staff and grantees, management of project background materials and other documentation, preparation of informational materials for meetings, documentation of meeting discussions and informational interviews, managing and coding interview data, virtual meeting platform management, drafting and refining client-facing memos and other internal summary documents and other related coordination and project management. This position is half-time (20 hours per week) for a term of 3 years beginning in May 2021.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management support to the co-directors of a grant-funded developmental and equitable evaluation process focused on housing policy, financing and investments in the context of the social determinants of health, health and racial equity. Project management responsibilities include:
    • Supporting development of and maintaining project schedules, timelines and participant contact information.
    • Scheduling key project meetings, interviews and work sessions with multiple stakeholders within the client foundation and with a group of up to 30 of its grantee organizations.
    • Managing virtual meeting technology.
    • Tracking deliverables and required funder reporting deadlines.
    • Preparing brief summaries of project activities for required reports.
  • Provide research and evaluation assistance including gathering and managing project background documents, reports and other information from grantees and foundation stakeholders.
  • Support data management and documentation for learning meetings and interviews through activities including, but not limited to, notetaking during learning sessions and grantee interviews, reviewing interview and session recordings to help summarize and highlight key information for the evaluation team; reviewing and tagging/ coding interview and session notes for analysis, conducting information scans and literature reviews and summarizing results.
  • Support the project co-directors in developing communication materials for evaluation and learning sessions, drafting and editing thematic memos and producing other communication products such as PowerPoint presentations or reports on key learning from the evaluation process.
  • Conduct outreach and liaison with grantees to schedule and process Honoria payments for their participation in the evaluation and learning process.

Position Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications:
(a) Education: Bachelor’s degree, in fields including liberal arts, social services, public health or related fields; graduate study a plus. A minimum of 2 years highly responsible research assistance, administrative or project management experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

(b) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, monitoring and completing complex projects.
  • Excellent listening and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to convey complex information in clear and concise ways and ability to create rough draft documents quickly.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work activities in a fast-paced team environment and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and successfully interact with people at all levels within and outside the organization as well as people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in finished work.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated across a range of administrative processes and procedures.
  • High-level ability to use computers and significant experience with software for presentations, spreadsheets and word processing applications.
  • Ability to plan and manage the technology for virtual meetings.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and thorough knowledge of modern office administrative practices, procedures and equipment. Aptitude for technology and ability to trouble-shoot technical problems a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Enjoys learning and reflection.
  • Ability to clarify assignments and expectations and work independently.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
