Position Summary:

The Group Sales Manager will focus on securing leisure groups (golf, reunions, and other social groups) and small corporate groups as delegated by Director of Group Sales. Primary purpose of Group Sales Manager is to provide excellent guest service for clients while assisting Group Sales Department in achieving room night and revenue goals as budgeted annually.

Essential Functions:

  • Field incoming phone calls and on-line group sales leads by responding in a timely manner, qualifying account, check availability and provide proposals to clients.
  • Follow up on prospects to develop group lead to go to contract, draft and negotiate contracts for guest rooms and event space for groups.
  • Arrange and conduct site visits with prospective clients.
  • Maintain daily and/or weekly reporting with management with regards to potential new business
  • Solicit and secure new business in assigned markets
  • Participate in customer meetings, business review meetings, and sales meetings as necessary
  • Maintain positive productive relationships/interactions with other departments in hotel
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • Prefer college degree, or equivalent education.
  • Two years’ experience at a Hotel/resort preferred. Four-star resort experience a plus.
  • Guest service background preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills needed.
  • Ability to prepare, organize, and report data on and generated by computer.
  • Some overnight travel for industry events may be required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong ability to multi task, adaptable to fast-paced changing environment
  • Maintain positive customer experience while exhibiting Edgewood brand standards
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
