Job Title: Printing Operator

Position summary: The primary job of a Printing Operator will include but is not limited to, operating 10 color rotogravure printing machines, mixing inks, cycle counting for inks, and solvents in the designated location within the print and lamination department. Other duties involved with this position will include material moving, disposing of hazardous waste (according to local, state, and federal requirements), perform quality testing, recordkeeping, cover breaks/lunches while complying with the production schedule and company policies and procedures. Effective communication should be established between the team members as well as with other shifts and direct supervisors. Ohio Pack adopted a “Clean as you Go” policy so all work areas should be kept clean, organized, and safe to comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Position Requirements

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum 1 year of printing experience
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • Quality-oriented mindset
  • Willingness and eager to learn.
  • Ability to perform basic data entry/computer skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Qualifications desired:
  • Rotogravure or flexographic print experience
  • Previous experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of metric conversions, measurements, and basic math skills
  • Experience disposing of hazardous wastes.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Operate Rotogravure Press
  • Perform all set up activities.
  • Complete four change overs per shift
  • Responsible for the adjustment to machinery to ensure product quality.
  • Help and/or perform all product changeovers.
  • Participate in various continuous improvement activities.
  • Be a part of corrective action teams as needed.
  • Report any potential food safety or quality of food defense concerns to the immediate supervisor or quality personnel.
  • Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systems.
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures.
  • This is a safety sensitive position (a drug test may be required)
  • Report and ensure all reporting are done correctly in IFS.
  • Perform quality checks as needed.
  • Comply all the procedures needed to comply with OSHA’s regulations.
  • Assist in the training of all new operators and temporary employees and document all training provided.
  • Complete all necessary production paperwork.
  • All other duties as required.

Available Shifts: 12 hour shifts (7:00am-7:00pm or 7:00pm-7:00am)
