Getty Marrow Curatorial Intern - Summer 2021 (Gold Rising) 


The Curatorial Intern will help with the research, organization, and development of a thematic exhibition on Chicano/a/x cinema for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. You will be involved with a wide range of curatorial activities and will have the opportunity to interact with various departments.


  • Create bibliographies, organize image files, draft and edit research summaries.
  • Execute both administrative and research-driven projects virtually.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Undergraduate student in film studies, Chicano/a/x studies, American studies, ethnic studies, museum studies, curatorial studies, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in curating, film, writing, and research.
  • Spanish language skills highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent writing and research skills with a keen attention to detail and a good sense of humor.
  • Impeccable organization skills with the ability to work independently in a creative environment.
  • Must currently reside or attend school in Los Angeles County.

This internship is part of the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program, which encourages greater diversity in the professions related to museums and the visual arts. The Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship program in Los Angeles supports substantive, full-time summer work opportunities for college undergraduates from backgrounds that have traditionally been underrepresented in the arts.
