The Architect will be responsible for Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and Multi-Cloud platform solution areas. This includes the entire solution lifecycle from ideation and design through technical configuration and deployment. And will deliver leadership and direction through technical briefings/roadmaps, service and solution workshops, and strategy ideation. Senior Architect Cloud Solutions at Torch.AI will strive to innovate, have a passion for learning and will be expected to evolve with current technology trends. They will possess a growth mindset, guiding our organization to leverage the cloud to deliver services with incredible speed, consistency, and availability. Will serve as a mentor to the engineering teams and work with Torch's technical leads to assist with the development of both current and future architects. This position requires strong technical and soft skills and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals across the enterprise. Primary Responsibilities: Cloud (IaaS/PaaS) foundational design and strategy. Develop cloud solutions to enhance, harden and support our service delivery processes. Cloud storage, backup and recovery, disaster recovery and high availability design Cloud networking and interconnectivity (ExpressRoute and VPN connections, address scheme, firewall rules, cloud native and 3rd party native and add-on capabilities and products, etc.) Cloud access and identity management (IAM) and security (RBAC, SSO, LDAP, AD) Cloud virtualization (infrastructure and desktop) Cloud migration tools, technologies, and project approach (assessment, design, planning, and execution) within large enterprise IT environments Lead and deliver strategy and architecture engagements including, high-level technical leadership and service / solution designs, and delivery of near-term and long-range strategy. Create and develop client solutions that meet business and technology requirements and deliver successful outcomes that supersede client expectations regarding cost, scope, and time. Participate and lightly facilitate project management mechanics and successful project outcomes. Create technical proposals, strategic project documentation and related deliverables, technology/solution whitepapers, etc. Create and deliver client presentations, video on demand and online seminar material, speaking engagements, etc. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from conception, to inception, including system design consulting, and capacity planning. Participate and contribute to the development of the architecture community (committees, guilds, etc.) Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability in Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services)) Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps toolchains and processes. Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for HA cloud end-to-end architecture, including AWS/Azure and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management. Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS (Platform as a Service), and other cloud services. Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks. Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.   Position Requirements Qualifications: Will possess a minimum of 10-year experience in designing scalable and complex IT (Information Technology) operations in large organizations. Prior success in an information technology leadership role (strategy, architecture and /or engineering roles preferred) relating to Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Multi-Cloud. Extensive experience in designs and consumption of various public and private cloud platforms, architectures, methodologies, and services Experience with cloud infrastructure automation and software delivery practices and patterns Proficient with conducting Return on Investment and Cost-Benefit Analysis Sound ability to provide guidance on security configurations and risk and compliance procedures (Identity Management, Network Configuration, Data Protection, Segregation of Duties) Experience with BCP/DR (Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery) patterns, practices, and designs Experience with Cloud based applications and their lifecycles. Experience with Kubernetes and Containerization Technologies Experience with Microsoft and Linux Technologies Experience with VMWare (or other Virtual Server Software) Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems and messaging systems Experience with MongoDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, and others Experience with operating system performance tuning, hardening, and troubleshooting. Experience with TCP/IP L3 routing, L7 traffic management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting Experience learning software, frameworks, and APIs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with distributed system design and architecture Experience building and managing CI/CD Pipelines Organized and methodical with strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills Experience successfully driving scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment. Ability to provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
