Therapist - Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist to provide individual therapy, clinical, substance use disorder and support services to consumers and/or their support systems utilizing the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Model. The SUD/ACT Therapist will serve those individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and presenting with the highest level of clinical intensity and at risk for arrest and/or higher levels of care.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provides mental health, dual diagnosis and/or substance use disorder therapy, in both an individual and group setting, to consumers and families as appropriate
  • Participates in treatment plan development, identifying strengths, discharge plans, follow-up care and referrals with consumers
  • Is an active member of the ACT team and collaborates with other team members and other professionals regularly
  • Demonstrates flexibility in their work with the consumer
  • Provides appropriate interventions in a manner that promotes a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Will maintain caseload of clients/consumers from the ACT team and other teams as needed
  • Works with other staff and providers as needed to provide quality mental health services.
  • Maintains confidentiality of consumer records
  • Facilitates and contributes to the accomplishment of tasks by consumers and/or families; empowers consumers to reach optimum level of achievement, sets positive example and provides role modeling in addition to technical expertise to accomplish goals
  • Partners with community partners including but not limited to law enforcement, courts, jails, hospitals and crisis centers
  • Represents self and the organization in a professional manner
  • Will complete all paperwork in compliance with agency standards and policies.
 
Position Requirements
  • Master's Degree and current licensure in Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional and Master’s Level Addictions Counselor (LMAC), with preference given to clinical licensure. If not currently licensed as a LMAC, must be able to obtain licensure within 90 days of employment
  • Knowledge of trends and issues, laws and regulations related to the development and delivery of therapeutic services helpful.
  • Ability to establish relationships with clients and treatment teams.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities under changing circumstances and timeframes.
  • Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.
  • Communicates directly and effectively in a cooperative manner with colleagues and representatives of other agencies.
  • Familiar with mental health theory and practice, specifically familiar with the ACT model.
  • Familiar with treatment approaches to treatment substance use disorders with an emphasis on co-occurring disorders
  • Organizational skills to assist in managing a caseload, keeping up with progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Screening Solutions and Medicaid/Medicare Reimbursable inquires.

Hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm  
Pay Range $42,000-$45,000
