What You Will Be Doing
As a Community Integration Specialist, you will serve as a friend, mentor, and support-person to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will assist with an individual's needs for individualized support to participate in community activities and build community membership consistent with the individual's interests, preferences, goals, and outcomes. This position will provide direct services – including Day & Vocational Habilitation and Non-Medical Transportation Services. Our program is community-based – so expect fun outings with the people we support. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Providing exceptional care
  • Implementing behavior supports
  • Promoting well-being and safety
  • Increasing an individual's social, educational, and living skills
  • Planning and leading community excursions
  • Promote social integration with other persons
  • Collaborating with other team members from across Boundless

Schedule

  • This is a full time, first shift position.
  • Two shifts are available: 8am-6pm Monday through Thursday OR 9am-5pm Monday through Friday
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Salary: $14 per hour

Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years' experience working with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges in any residential, supported living, respite, day or vocational program, or school program.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) Certification
  • Five years' experience working with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges.
  • At least two years of college in psychology or related field plus three years or more experience in the mental health field.

Licensure/Certification

  • Multi-Media First Aid, CPR—adult, child & infant
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License – Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
  • Insurable Driving Record
  • Successfully complete drug screen and DOT physical
  • Medication Certification (as needed based upon clientele)
  • Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist Certification (preferred)
