As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of Winc. You will define and drive analyses aimed at developing a deep and holistic understanding of business performance, growth drivers, and trends. Executives and senior leadership heavily rely on the Analytics team to solve challenging problems and make actionable recommendations based on data. The right person for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by a highly-visible and impactful position.


  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs, and the metrics and trends they want to monitor

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (acquisition, retention, brand, product, engineering, and design) to define and understand KPIs and metrics

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and explain complex analysis through informative and well-organized presentations

  • Build data models, data visualizations, and operational analytics that communicate insights across the organization

  • Construct code bases and workflows for reporting pipelines using BI tools

  • Drive and improve our processes for maintaining high-quality data and reporting

Position Requirements


  • 3+ years of relevant work experience as an analytics/BI engineer, data engineer, data analyst, consultant, or equivalent

  • Expertise in writing optimized SQL for creating, updating, and querying tables

  • Expertise in using Python for data processing and analysis at scale

  • Experience in building reporting products using BI tools like Domo, Tableau, etc.

  • Experience in engaging with cross-functional teams that develop data pipeline architecture, organizational metrics, and business KPIs

  • Exposure to dbt, Airflow, or other DAG-based workflow frameworks

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience articulating issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • An ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
