Your role at MOBE

As a Mobile App Developer, you will work with internal teammates and external partners to develop and support the MOBE mobile app used by our participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops new features and enhances existing functionality in the mobile app, using React Native and other related technologies.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to define new solutions to business or operational challenges.
  • Pays attention to details and quality, not only related functionality and code, but also when implementing User Interfaces based on provided designs.
  • Investigates and diagnoses root causes of issues in the app or related services, and drives resolution of issues.
  • Identifies and constructively communicates the need for improvements or enhancements in MOBE technology assets.
  • Drives completion of projects and initiatives, follows through on execution of chosen strategies and demonstrates the ability to stay the course despite obstacles.
  • Leads and manages the delivery of test builds and submissions to app stores.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional organizations.
  • All other duties as assigned to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by MOBE’s Guiding Principles.
 
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or additional relevant experience.
  • A minimum of two years’ application development experience.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, and experience with frameworks like React.
  • Experience in mobile app development processes, including use of tools like TestFlight, as well as submitting builds to the App Store and Google Play.
  • Experience with integrating with REST APIs and third-party services.
  • Experience with SQL Server.
  • Experience with Git version control, using GitLab’s DevOps feature is a plus.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, and a results-driven attitude.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex technical concepts to business users and management.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of use cases related to wellness and the healthcare industry.
  • Experience implementing accessible user interfaces (e.g. compliant with WCAG 2.0 AA).
  • Familiarity with challenges supporting multiple device sizes and features, especially mobile-connected wearables and wellness-monitoring devices.
