Description

The Ascentis SaaS Operations team is made up of driven, detailed and positive individuals. The Lead System Administrator will be hands-on, high technical role leading the SaaSOps team with responsibilities to manage and maintain network, servers, technology, and tools. As Team Lead you’ll be responsible for handling work direction of the team, mentoring and coordinating projects.  The position will be part of on-call rotation and involved in handling after-hours maintenance.

What are the general responsibilities of the position? 

  • Proven experience in, and passion for, leading teams, mentoring staff, and driving organizational change. 
  • Perform updates to SaaS environment.  
  • Ensure for the availability, continuity and security of data and information. 
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on hardware and software. 
  • Implement technological alternatives to streamline functions and improve productivity. 
  • Document and maintain technology policies, standards, and procedures. 
  • Implement, administer, and maintain databases. 
  • Automate routine tasks or workflow through SQL, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.  
  • Assists in other duties as needed and directed. 
  • Occasional onsite work at Data Center (located in Shakopee, MN) 
  • Participate in outside normal business hours work, e.g. monthly maintenance window, on call rotation 
  • Flexible to work in shifts. Participation in an on-call rotation and operate effectively in a 24x7 environment. 
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed including being available for off-hours production?support. 

 

 
Position Requirements

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (CS, IS, MIS) is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in handling day to day IT operations (NOC / SaaS environment preferred )
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Positive and professional demeanor with a desire to grow
  • Timely response to requests for information, service, and assistance
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Windows server (Linux a plus)
  • TCP/IP network (Cisco a plus)
  • Microsoft IIS administration (SQL a plus)
  • Monitoring tools (System Center, PRTG)
