Description

The Director of Infrastructure, Cloud Technology & Service Operations leads the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to both internal infrastructure and cloud computing. This role requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s). This individual will be responsible for overseeing the internal infrastructure of the company, the cloud infrastructure and operations as well the service operations team. This will be a hands-on leader who will develop a strategy, including policies, procedures, tools and metrics to align the infrastructure and service operations teams with RenPSG’s strategic goals. This position must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position. This individual will be focused on the design and implementation of cloud compliance, metrics/reporting and cost optimization in a cloud environment. The position will act as the lead on collaborating with Application & Security teams. This will include generating and providing recommendations on how RenPSG should optimize usage of cloud services, compliance controls through analysis and develop automated reporting that enables teams to leverage best practices for running efficient cloud solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop Infrastructure staff to strive to reach overall team, department, and company’s goals for talent, professionalism, and required support and technical skills
  • Define and implement policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Liaise with CIO and other leaders to identify, recommend, develop and implement cost-effective technology solutions
  • Provide senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the overall cloud design, implementation, operational strategy, consumption and optimization opportunities
  • Lead the service operations team to ensure strong client service and effective SLAs for service desk tickets, onboarding and offboarding, account and equipment procedures, and support for company’s videoconferencing efforts, etc.
  • Operate as an internal subject matter expert of the Company’s infrastructure strategy and industry best practices
  • Establish annual and long-term infrastructure and service operations goals to align with the Company’s strategic plan
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and evaluate business solutions to ensure quality service
  • Assess the impact of IT industry trends to current and future IT infrastructure projects
  • Drives moderate to complex processing improvements through optimization, enhancements and implementation of new operational features and functions around cloud compliance, metrics/reporting and cost optimization
  • Executes data-driven decisions by delivering operational metrics by analyzing operational data to identify trends and potential problems
  • Establish and implement processes for the ongoing proactive management and maintenance of cloud solution infrastructure, including:
    • Documenting solution architecture and implementation
    • Cost tracking and assignment
    • Application patching for security fixes and feature updates
    • Maintenance window monitoring / management

 

 
Position Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading information technology teams
  • Knowledge of and experience with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) disciplines
  • Advanced understanding of cloud platforms, consoles, pricing and services (Azure and AWS)
  • Deep understanding of the key concepts and practices of cloud observability, coupled with experience implementing robust systems that leverage metrics, logs, and traces to provide holistic state of the cloud operations
  • A technical business acumen that ensures the organization is operating efficiently and effectively in an internal infrastructure versus cloud environment
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure and operation landscape with a focus on public cloud technology and how it differs from traditional computing
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure technology systems and demonstrated ability to advise leaders of best practices
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate across departments and practice areas
  • Exceptional problem solving and communication skills
  • Must be able to perform all essential duties
