Description

On Going Service Unit Coordinator needed for full-time, temporary position in Philadelphia County.

The Ongoing Services Unit Supervisor (OSU) is responsible for the overall performance and management of up to six case managers and one assistant case manager within the Ongoing Services Unit. The primary objective of the Ongoing Services Unit is to ensure parents/caregivers remained enrolled in and complete settings' services. The Ongoing Services Unit Supervisor (OSUS) monitors and reports on the performance of the staff in managing assigned caseloads. In addition, the OSUS is responsible for building relationships with the assigned DHS and setting liaisons, related Community Umbrella Agency (CUA) Social Worker staff, organization on-site service providers and partner agencies to maintain program specific resource networks to effectively address parent/caregiver needs.

Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of the day-to-day work of the Reunification Support Specialist (RSS) staff in effective management of assigned caseloads. Monitor RSS activity through monthly supervision, setting's database tracking, individual tracking logs and following work products - court reports, case narratives, P/C case files, and closing summaries. Ensure standard practices across OSU in accordance with setting's operating procedures. Ensure reporting staff comply with annual staff development plan including adherence to required staff training hours. Review and approve RSS recommendation to close P/C case. Conduct periodic audits of P/C electronic and manual files to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Work with Data Entry staff to monitor the various stages of parent/caregiver enrollment status beginning with case transfer to Unit, required parent meetings, non-participation in enrolled services and case closure. Responsible for monthly data reports on status of parent/caregivers including RSS caseloads, parent/caregiver participation in case management meetings and parent/caregiver completion of enrolled services. Oversee parent/caregiver case transfer process from Intake Services Unit. Work collaboratively with Supervisor for Intake Services Unit to investigate, provide guidance and resolve any issues related to efficient management of setting's cases. Support organization's marketing, outreach, parent/caregiver engagement and retention strategies as needed. Maintain communications with assigned Community Umbrella Agency (CUA) through email communications and presentations at staff meetings.

 
Position Requirements

MSW required. A combination of a BSW with substantial case management and supervisory experience will be considered. A minimum of 5-6 years’ experience in the delivery of case management services for child welfare agency. Knowledge of Philadelphia Department of Human Services and Community Umbrella agencies preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative. Strong written, analytical, organizational, presentation and problem-solving skills. Highly organized with ability to effectively manage time and respond to deadlines. Excellent listening and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Perform other duties as assigned.
