Job Summary:
The Human Resource Assistant for SafeStreets will provide important assistance to the Human Resources Department working from the American Fork, Utah office. This position will perform primarily administrative and clerical tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department with an emphasis on the Employee Relations component of the department. This is a full time non-exempt position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The responsibilities associated with this position include but are not limited to the following:
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Assists with the review of and responding to unemployment claims in many different states.
Provides extensive clerical support to the HR department including but not limited to securing signatures on pertinent documents and filing these documents in the applicable folders.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
Assists with the clerical aspects of workplace investigations.
Assists with planning and execution of company events as needed.
Acts as a primary point of contact and representative for employees in the Utah office.
Performs other duties as assigned and reasonably associated with this position.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision following initial training period.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Must be flexible and adaptable regarding company related changes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will not require any supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in related field required.
Prior related office experience preferred but not required.
SHRM membership preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Compensation:
This position will have an hourly compensation. The hourly rate will depend upon experience.
