Deposit Operations Accounts Specialist

Our Deposit Operations Accounts Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of account research requests and verifications, maintains the IRA program for the CU, processes escheatment, and supports the Deposit Operations Department by acting as backup for key functionalities within the team as outlined by management. The position will also focus on the following:

  • Maintains the organization’s IRA program, providing support for employees’ and members’ questions regarding IRA/HSA products and processes. Responsible for sending mandatory notices, administration of tax related forms and transmission of files to the IRS, research and resolution of errors and adjustments.
  • Provides backup to Deposit Operations Specialist with incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfers.
  • Responsible for mailing official checks through centralized loan funding process and processing of bill pay payments.
  • Prepares Medicaid, Social Security verification, and account research requests.
  • Oversees the escheatment process.
  • Serves as support for other roles within the Deposit Operations Team.
  • Processes notary certification requests.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Position Requirements

Knowledge and Skills: A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses: A high school degree or equivalent; some college preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring. Communications generally require shorter and not in-depth discussions.

Other Skills: Ability to prioritize multiple, and sometimes, conflicting tasks. Strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary for communicating expense deadlines to department managers and supervisors.

Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Compensation $14.79 - $20.88  
Bondability Employment at Blue Federal Credit Union is contingent upon successful bondability.
