Share Email Opening Title Medical Records Specialist - Bi-Lingual  Description Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated bi-lingual Medical Records Specialist that will be responsible for gathering, processing, and maintaining client records according to policy and HIPAA standards. They ensure client records are maintained in a manner compliant with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements of the mental healthcare system. Essential Job Duties: Responsible for data entry into the electronic health record. Scans and files medical records, correspondence and other documentation in clinical charts and the electronic health record. Assists clients with requests for medical records and maintaining accurate clinical record information. Abstracts and processes medical releases of information, subpoenas & audits that pertain to the HIPAA Privacy Laws for information from clients' medical records for release to appropriate facility, agency, attorney, Insurance Company, physician, etc. Retrieves clinical charts as requested for staff &/or Medicaid audits within 24-hours of request. Prepares & sends charts for closure in off-site storage facility. Maintains opened and closed file areas in an orderly and accurate manner Verifies and updates client’s demographic information to include name changes, address, and phone number. Ability to handle high volume of phone calls on multi-line phone system. Provides other supportive services to staff   Position Requirements Job Requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalent. One + year experience using a CRM or Medical Records database. Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Proficient working with MS Office programs; Outlook, Word, Excel. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
