Corporate Maintenance Trainer 

Description

PURPOSE

To provide technical expertise and direction for technical support throughout the entire Maintenance organization in order to improve technician knowledge, skills, and personal growth while ensuring compliance to vendor, OSHA/EPA and company directives and processes.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure all maintenance team members are properly trained on vehicles and components within our fleet to include all necessary OE provided troubleshooting software
  • Responsible for overseeing all maintenance employee OSHA/EPA required training and record keeping
  • Responsible for coordinating in-house and vendor led training functions to include all training record keeping
  • Responsible for developing and implementing USAT instructor led training for all maintenance employees
  • Responsible for coordination and maintaining of all necessary maintenance diagnostic software and associated laptops at each USAT repair facility
  • Responsible for identifying common/redundant equipment failures and working with associated OE and vendor for repair solutions
  • Determine best practices of fleet repairs by the use of Standard Repair Times along with USAT maintenance repair stances and ensure they are utilized at all USAT repair facilities
  • Develop and implement technician development plans for each USAT Tech level that ensures continuous improvement and progression to the next available skill level
  • Coordinate with all USAT Service managers to understand developmental and training needs of all maintenance team members
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures for Maintenance Department
  • Manage internal repair and vendor released repair bulletins and recalls
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years Class 8 Diesel repair experience
  • 3 years Training program management experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • ASE Master Heavy Duty Certification a plus

  • Technical skills related to Class 8 Tractors and Trailers
  • Presentation skills that can engage the team in learning
  • Ability to communicate to front line team members as well as corporate team members Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results
  • Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety

 

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions and requiring travel in various external conditions.
  • Travel domestically as necessary.
