Position: Human Resources Manager

Location: Trump Winery, 20 minutes south of Downtown Charlottesville

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manage and supervise all human resource operations
  • Facilitate and administer compliance of h2a visa program for vineyard staffing needs
  • Develop, implement and oversee the group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, worker’s compensation, and 401(k) plan); complying with laws and regulations
  • Distribute and process enrollment forms for insurance benefits; explain benefits and costs to employees
  • Audit monthly insurance premium invoices for enrollment accuracy and correct billing
  • Administer the distribution of the 1094-C and 1095-C forms and other forms as required by law
  • Administer 3rd party COBRA program; process terminated employees for voluntary continued insurance coverage options; update insurance rates annually prior to renewal deadline
  • Responsible for understanding, educating employees on, and enforcing all company policies, including but not limited to those provided in the Employee Handbook
  • Responsible for understanding FMLA, ADA, and state-law protected leaves and providing the necessary forms and follow up to applicable employees
  • Respond to and, if applicable, appeal unemployment benefit claims, either through appeal letters or telephone interviews
  • Keep all personnel files updated and oversee the collection of required forms for new hires; administer payroll system
  • Supervise the completion of I-9 files; maintain I-9 files as required by law
  • Oversee all new hire paperwork including E-Verify, criminal background check and MVR process for new hires; keeping records of decisions made for applicants with criminal history
  • Approve employee disciplinary notices, participate in employee disciplinary meetings as needed, employee relations counseling
  • Submit termination requests to corporate HR as needed
  • Ensure all compliance related company training (included but not limited to health and safety, alcohol, harassment) requirements are completed and tracked in a timely manner
  • Oversee new employee orientation and various other trainings to contribute to company goals
  • Oversee recruitment: interviews, tests, employee selection, writing job descriptions, placing ads
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports; responsible for reporting to insured
  • Handle annual OSHA reporting requirements
  • Contracts with employee services for temporary employment needs
  • Monitor, analyze and update the company’s evaluation program
  • Assist General Manager or other department managers when requested
  • Provide human resource and administration support to Trump Vineyard Estates and Trump Virginia Acquisitions dba Albemarle Estate

     

REQUIREMENTS:
 

  • 5+ years progressive human resources
  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities; develop and seek out creative and innovative ideas
  • Exceptional communication skills: written and verbal, presentation (comfortable with public speaking), coordination, and collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to objectively facilitate communication between individuals
  • SHRM certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree human resources or business administration or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), applicant tracking systems, and payroll systems
  • Flexible mindset ability and willingness to step outside of traditional job duties to support operational duties to support the business; Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of local, state, and federal labor laws
  • Handle sensitive information discretely and confidentially
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface at all levels within the organization
