This position coordinates the onboarding process for the Camps & Classes staff and coordinates the daily and weekly camp schedules. This is a seasonal position that will end 9/30/21.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Coordinate and assist with Instructors interviewing, training and onboarding.
  • Coordinate the daily & weekly camp schedules for the three (3) different camp programs that are operating simultaneously on zoo grounds.
  • Support the Instructors in day-to-day program needs.
  • Coordinate between departments at the zoo regarding the programs.
  • Coordinate program equipment, materials, guest speakers, and facilities.
  • Provide customer service to camper families before, during, and following the program.
  • Respond to the needs of campers and instructors during the camp day.
  • Ensure instructors and campers are following COVID safety protocols and program curriculum.
  • Lead the end-of-summer closing procedures of the program, including implementing a participant feedback process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of two (2) years combined education and/or experience working with children and coordinating camps and classes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and remain flexible to changing tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position may be required to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $20.00/hour
