Job Summary

This position provides database and data analytics support to NBCC, Inc. and Affiliates by working with our IT team and our clients to achieve our organization’s goals. The position requires a hands-on professional with an ability to translate our organizational needs into client-friendly functions related to reporting, billing, and statistical analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are a summary of the essential functions of the job. Other duties might be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities could change periodically.

  • Obtain data from internal and external sources; analyze, validate, and distribute data, and use internal and external data to create, update, and maintain databases primarily using Access and SQL.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain datasets from multiple sources, data dashboards, and advanced data visualizations. Independently manage data sets, keep data sets error-free, analyze data, and interpret results.
  • Receive data and report requests, evaluate requirements, build queries, build reports, check data, and deploy reports. Write data report processes for developing queries and running reports.
  • Assists with the maintenance and functionality and health of the Microsoft SQL Servers.
  • Monitors the nightly jobs run in SQL Server Agent, including nightly backups of the individual databases and batch processing jobs.
  • Develops and maintains the security of the servers and their individual databases’ security, including user accounts.
  • Develops views, stored procedures, nightly jobs, and user-defined functions within each database for applications to use as needed.
  • Develops and maintains all MS-Access databases, both standalone and those connected to SQL Server.
  • Enhances existing MS-Access databases as organizational needs require.
  • Migrates MS-Access ‘backend’ databases to a SQL Server solution for enhanced security and functionality.
  • Assists users with routine functionality issues, provides data extraction (e.g., mailing lists), performs ad hoc queries for data manipulation.
  • Engages in constant communication with colleagues.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills.
  • Assists other IT team members with database support and ensures knowledge transfer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
