With such a variety of activities available, it should not come as a surprise that Kaukauna is also known as 'The Friendly City.'   Position Golf Aide   Description CITY OF KAUKAUNA Position Description Golf Aide Recreation Department Reports to the Recreation Director (or His/Her Designee) POSITION SUMMARY The Golf Aide is responsible for assisting the Golf Instructor with the instructional and league golf programs and reinforcing the instruction taught to the participants. MAJOR POSITION DUTIES Wear clean clothes in good repair, appropriate for teaching golf under the current weather conditions. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class time. Punch-in on smartphone app. Examine and evaluate the safety of the course/teaching area, surrounding area and equipment. Assist the Golf Instructor with set-up of teaching area and equipment as necessary for class. Communicate with participants, parents and other staff in a professional manner. Assist the Golf Instructor with communicating objectives for all learning activities. Under the supervision and direction of the Golf Instructor, prepare educational activities and instructional materials that facilitate active learning of objectives. Assist Golf Instructor with instructing and monitoring students in the use of all educational materials and equipment. Assist Golf Instructor in monitoring student performance and progress. Provide appropriate feedback to students on performance and progress. Assist Golf Instructor in managing student behavior, enforcing rules and procedures. Provide appropriate discipline as needed. Supervise children in the absence of the Golf Instructor. Assist the Golf Instructor in collecting attendance data and recording on the attendance form. Provide clerical assistance to the Golf Instructor with record keeping, setting up party, etc. Assist Golf Instructor with clean-up of the teaching area/course at the completion of each day’s classes. Punch-out on smartphone app at the completion of class. Report incidents and concerns to the Recreation Director in a timely manner. Attend all necessary program meetings Other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director. QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES) Must be 16+ Years Old Knowledge of the game/sport of golf and its fundamental skills, techniques and strategies. Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Ability to follow Kaukauna Recreation Department Time & Attendance procedures. Golf team experience and/or prior teaching and/or coaching experience is preferred. ENVIONMENTAL CONDITIONS Ability to stoop, kneel, climb, bend, lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to sustain prolonged visual concentration. Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to endure a variety of weather and temperature conditions for prolonged periods of time.
