Description

Supervises and coordinates all activities in the Production Area through empowering supervisory teams and operators, maintenance and manufacturing operations necessary for production of finished products in desired quantities and at specified levels of quality in a cost effective manner by performing the following duties.

 
Position Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities :
Manages six subordinate supervisors who supervise up to 30 machine operators, assemblers, molding technicians and production assistants. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include involvement in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Refer employees to Employee Assistance Provider when appropriate.

1. Responsible for working safely and reporting any unsafe work habits or conditions to a supervisory member, Human Resource professional or a member of the Safety and Health Committee.
2. Responsible for working safely, modeling safe work practices and enforcing safety rules.

Education and/or Experience :
Associate's degrees (A. A.) or equivalent from 2 year college and 5+ years of previous supervisory/management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Baccalaureate degree preferred.

Training Requirements : Successful completion of the following training is required:
New Employee Orientation Checklist Production Manager Training Checklist
Annually - 24 hours of continued education recommended

Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Software Knowledge : Must have efficient computer skills in the area of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, IQMS (Manufacturing Enterprise System), Microsoft Outlook

Work Environment : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
