George School, a co-ed, 9-12, Quaker boarding/day school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA, seeks a full-time teacher of English starting the school year 2021-2022. 

Position Requirements

Candidates should have a master’s degree or postgraduate credit in literature and at least three years of teaching experience. Familiarity with and willingness to teach Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate curricula are preferred. A deep and broad understanding of a wide range of literature from different times and places and an appreciation for a wide range of literary genres is important. Willingness to fulfill common boarding school duties, including coaching; the ability to work with a diverse student population; and commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community and a style consistent with Quaker values are also important. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the energy to thrive within a fast-paced work environment, and he/she must possess a genuine appreciation of adolescents, a sense of humor, and the ability to work collaboratively.
