Case Manager needed for full-time, temp to hire position in Camden County.
The Case Manager is responsible for outreach services to TANF recipients receiving TANF benefits and having characteristics of long term TANF recipients or having significant barriers to self-sufficiency; long term TANF recipients who have received TANF benefits for more than 30 months; non-custodial parents of minors who are in compliance with the term of a personal responsibility contract and unemployed, underemployed or having difficulty meeting child support obligations; and teen parents receiving TANF benefits who also have the long term dependence characteristics of teen pregnancy. They will systematically outreach to this unemployed population and engage them in taking advantage of services that are available to support them during their transition to employment.
Case Managers are responsible for evaluation and determination of eligible individuals, dissemination of information outlining career planning, job coaching, employment and occupational training services available and referral to the Board of Social Services to begin the appropriate process for accessing services. In addition, they will provide follow up to individuals who have been referred for services or expressed interest in pursuing any of the above noted career/job training services.
Knowledge of entitlement programs and program regulations, federal, state and community resources and expertise in navigating these resources. Ability to relate directly but compassionately with people in continuing life difficulty. Ability to engage and gain rapport with 'reluctant' clients with patience, directness and empathy. Exercises discretion with the ability to assess client and family resources, strengths, goals and obstacles to movement to self-sufficiency, in a short period of time.
