Description

Residential Therapist needed for full-time, temp to hire position in Philadelphia County.

This position will:

  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions and maintain caseloads that required level.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Participate in weekly clinical case conference.
  • Participate in at least 25 hours of training each training calendar year.
  • Participate in weekly supervisions with Clinical Director.
  • Provide continuing stay reviews for funder.
  • Attend daily staff meetings and inform staff of any important participant's information.
  • Implement recovery process for participants as defined by organization's program goals and philosophy.
  • Ensure that the Resident Assistants and Facility Manager receive up-to-date written information in the logbook concerning the physical and emotional status of each resident, as needed.
  • Provide continuity of care as defined by treatment plan for each participant.
  • Lead group therapy sessions two days each week.
  • Conduct weekly individual therapy sessions with each participant on caseload.
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions when requested by participants or as indicated by observations.
  • Maintain authority for participants' requests to leave premises.
  • Assert veto power when necessary to refuse pass privileges as decided by group process when stability to participants is in question or indication of inappropriate plans is present.
  • Provide Resident Assistants and Facility Manager with accurate, detailed list of weekend passes, meeting passes and visitor list.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with off-site, community-based mental health treatment providers.
  • Alert Senior Therapist to any current or potential behavioral problems of participants.
  • Holidays, evenings and weekends are required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinical Director or Program Director.

 
Position Requirements

MSW and two years related experience or BSW and four years experience specifically related to the position. Have a minimal of 2 years’ clinical experience conducting individual, group therapy, and family intervention. Have experience in substance abuse treatment, thorough knowledge of alcoholism and other addictions with the particular attention of the needs of addicted women and their children. Have excellent written and oral communication skills. Have an ability to function in a professional manner, demonstrating strength and interpersonal skills with other staff at all times. Have an ability to establish professional limit setting. Sensitive to issues of diversity. Have an ability to use therapeutic skills, which will assist participants in process of recovery. Have an ability to serve as a role model to participants.
