Description

This posting is for an immediate opening and is not looking for summer help.

This is a temporary intern position and not a permanent position.

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the assigned manager, the Mortgage Intern will be provided a learning program with timed milestones to learn and develop mortgage production or mortgage servicing skills. The objective is for the incumbent to; gain a better understanding of the mortgage industry and work environment and possibly identify a position or discipline as a career path. The Mortgage Intern must complete the designated training program with a “meets requirements” rating in order to transition to a permanent position within the mortgage division.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develop a solid understanding of the software and website portals used to process, underwrite and/or service mortgage files.
  2. Assist with special projects as directed by management or senior associates.
  3. Provide administrative support to the assigned department as directed.
  4. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Completion of at least 24 college credit hours or relevant experience (financially regulated environment) required.
  • Successful completion of the designated training program (within timeline) required.
  • Licensed Notary Public (or ability to obtain within 90 days) preferred.
  • Sales and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.

  • Must be able to operate personal computer keyboard in order to create reports, schedules and other appropriate documentation

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and to talk and hear. The associate must occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.

 

The associate may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
