Position Requirements

FT/Non-Exempt Position/Hourly Position with full Benefits Package; Health Benefits after 60days

Schedule:8hrs daily; (M-F)

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver workshops including resume building, job search, interviewing, communication, conflict resolution and more to prepare Veterans for employment and enhance their chances for success once hired.
  • Identify opportunities in the community for employment, work to assist Veterans in networking and connecting to various resources in an effort to secure employment.
  • Administer various assessments to determine a Veterans level of knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Work with Veteran to identify barriers to employment and resources to overcome them.
  • Develop a strength based, client focused plan and execute successful employment placement.
  • Research and develop relevant curriculum and materials for workshops. Incorporate visual, auditory and kinesthetic activities to maximize the learning experience. Enroll Veterans in training classes and continuing education classes.
  • Document weekly notes. Maintain comprehensive client files of all assessments, workshops and job search efforts. Prepare reports as requested by Program Manager or Program Director.
  • Meet regularly with Case Managers to staff their respective cases. Meet with Program Manager to staff overall case load. Provide on-going program evaluation and recommendationstotheProgramManagerandProgramDirectorforcontinuousgrowthandquality.
  • Conduct outreach and networking activities in the community. Provide presentations at various community groups within the greater metropolitan and surrounding area. Promote the success and reputation of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.

Essential Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a major in business, human resources,organizational development or psychology.
  • 2+ years’ experience in job placement and employment readiness training or equivalent (2+ years’ experience in classroom and 1 on1 training/facilitating; or 1 year experience in curriculum development preferred. College classes pertaining to this type of experience will also be considered).
  • Experience working with homeless, low income, Veterans and their families a strong plus.
  • Must have own transportation; travel required/driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of adult learning and training methodologies, curriculum development, job search, internet research and community resources.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to Veterans, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, funders, and the general public. Ability to make oral presentations.
  • Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies. Ability to respond in a professional manner in all situations.
  • Ability to think analytically and evaluate the impact of recommendations. Ability to set work priorities and to evaluate and create solutions to work related problems Strong math, organization and communications skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook; PowerPoint, Huddle, Cloud and Client Track a plus.
  • Ability to work in a remote office, self-motivating and sufficient.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced/team environment.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a strong plus.
