Description

The Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter contributes to the success of the ministry by handling HR Generalist duties and coordinating the full recruiting process. As the Recruiter, this role will review all applicants, schedule and administer all testing, interviews, and background and reference checks on final candidates, resulting in filling each position with a qualified candidate, and communicating with all applicants as to the final resolution for each position. In addition to the main duties of staffing, this position will coordinate our wellness program and assist the HR Director in HR generalist duties in relation to our employee policies, training programs, and employment law questions. This role will also answer general benefits questions and assist the Payroll & Benefits Manager with open enrollment.

Responsibilities include:

Recruitment process responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with hiring managers at all phases of the recruiting process and assist with reaching final resolution for all candidates
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting process to meet staffing goals across all levels while maintaining logs for tracking the forecasted financial staffing impact
  • Work with hiring managers to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and applicants are assessed against appropriate criteria
  • Develop a pipeline of qualified applicants that can be immediately contacted when an opening occurs
  • Conduct reference checks and background checks
  • Contribute to the development and review of recruitment materials with the hiring manager such as job descriptions, candidate testing tools, position postings, qualifying application questions, and interview questions
  • Troubleshoot with MyStaffing Pro on any technical requirements for our staffing system
  • Develop sourcing techniques in finding candidates for specific hard-to-fill positions
  • Partner as trainer of hiring process with HR Director for all new managers and assistants
  • Maintain electronic job description database and physical files of graded positions according to DOL standards
  • Coordinate the use of volunteers and tracks assignments

Wellness coordination duties:

  • Organize and create monthly Wellness flyers & posters
  • Create activities to help employees stay healthy and encourage participation/engagement
  • Assist in creating and conducting wellness and benefits presentations using audiovisual tools, including PowerPoint
  • Act as a back-up in benefits administration, in the event the Payroll & Benefits Manager is unavailable, by maintaining a good understanding of the employee benefits programs

HR generalist responsibilities:

  • Act as main point of contact for employee HR generalist questions, including employment law questions
  • Assist HR Director with other training materials for ongoing staff training needs
  • Assist in development and maintenance of the employee policy manual electronically and in the HR hard copy, archiving all policies as revisions are written and approved
  • Assist the Payroll & Benefits Manager in posting all legally required communications/posters in the ministry building(s)

HR administrative functions:

  • Proficient in employee file record-keeping and file destruction, maintaining records according to state and federal laws
  • Assist with hospitality by coordinating itineraries, transportation, and lodging at Beulah for any out of town applicants, as well as coordinating travel with the Travel Department
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in scheduling meetings and assigned projects
  • Maintain the employee picture portal on the ministry Intranet site
  • Order and distribute uniform shirts and nametags
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in either recruiting or HR Generalist functions
  • Have earned one of the following certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, and/or CEBS
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a staffing software
  • High degree of understanding of employment law and regulations, both Federal and state
  • Ability to work independently and employ effective organizational, project and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Maintains high degree of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and maintain productivity
  • A reputation for accountability built on consistently delivering on commitments

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Faithfully demonstrates a servant’s heart, while multi-tasking

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with MyStaffing Pro
  • Proficiency with Optimum’s payroll software, a plus
