Description

The Call Center Team Members provide excellent customer service and delight in finding solutions to clients problems. Team members are knowledgeable of the Houston SPCA services and can help provide the correct information and appropriate support staff to assist with clients needs.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Greets the general public and provides information and directions as needed.
  • Advises potential adopters of Houston SPCA adoption benefits, policies and procedures.
  • Provides information to the public about Houston SPCA programs and promotes good animal care and responsible pet ownership.
  • Receives mail and/or coordinates the mailing of packages. Ensures that all packages requiring immediate attention or special handling are delivered to the addressee upon receipt.
  • Processes adoption paperwork, obtaining signatures, receipting payments and scheduling surgery.
  • Files all paperwork in the appropriate areas.
  • Assists individuals in locating lost pets by completing the necessary report and handing off to appropriate support staff.
  • Answers the phones professionally, directing callers to the appropriate extensions, providing information and taking information regarding potential rescue and cruelty reports.
  • Enters all cruelty reports into the database and relays all rescue reports via email to the appropriate rescue driver on duty.
  • Schedules appointments for admissions and deputy foster program.
  • Provides information to the public about Houston SPCA programs and promotes good animal care and responsible pet ownership.
  • Advises potential adopters of Houston SPCA adoption benefits, policies and procedures and admissions requirements.
  • Maintains assigned equipment, supplies and vehicles in safe condition and report any problems or needed repairs to the Call Center Manager.
  • Keeps current inventory of necessary program supplies and reports shortages to Call Center Manager.
  • Protects all confidential information, including customers, donors, animals and internal communications.
  • Represents the Houston SPCA by providing excellent customer service and focus.
  • Solicits donations as required.
  • Book intakes and advises customers about the adoptability of animals being admitted.
  • Advises potential customers of Houston SPCA admissions requirements.
  • Provides information to the public about Houston SPCA programs and promoting good animal care and responsible pet ownership.
 
Position Requirements <p style="margin-left:0in; margin-right:0in"><strong>Knowledge, skill and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of this position:</strong></p><ul> <li>Follow the mission of the Houston SPCA.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of the Houston SPCA adoption policies and procedures.</li> <li>Knowledge of Houston SPCA partners and products/services they offer.</li> <li>Knowledge of the Houston SPCA policies and protocols, such as, but not limited to admitting, cleaning and medical protocols.</li> <li>Working knowledge of breeds, diseases, medical conditions, and animal handling and behavior.</li> <li>Ability to handle animals safely, with patience and gentleness.</li> <li>Ability to represent the Houston SPCA in a professional manner in all situations with the public, volunteers and staff.</li> <li>Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships within the Houston SPCA, with volunteers and the public and be a team player.</li> <li>Must be patient, courteous and work well under stressful conditions.</li> <li>Knowledge and ability to accurately work with detailed information in paper and electronic form.</li> <li>Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.</li> <li>Ability to learn and quickly adapt to changes in programs and procedures.</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent with one year of working experience. </li> <li>Valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record is optimum.</li> <li>Ability to work unscheduled hours.</li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs.</li></ul>
