Description

Adventure Summary

The purpose of the position is to maintain appropriate levels of inventory and product availability for products. This position is responsible for setting up and maintaining item masters and BOM (Bills of Material) relationships for products. Will work closely with Demand Planner to assist in developing and managing a statistical forecast model that accurately reflects market conditions while minimizing our inventory investment. This person will assist in managing the product life cycle.

 

What You Will Do

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate availability and inventory levels to meet targeted metric performance goals.
  • Responsible for updating all new costs into the business system and communicates these changes to manager.
  • Execute order parameters within the business system (COBOL) and the Demand Planning system (DSX)
  • Responsible for daily analysis and review of all product needs to ensure attainment of set fulfillment rates Build and maintain supply model
  • Balance and optimize inventory at supplier level
  • Resolve inventory administrative issues.
  • Understand that supply and logistics is a system of organizations, people, technology, activities, information, and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to customer.
  • Possess basic knowledge of supply chain activities, including transformation of natural resources, raw materials, and components into a finished product that is delivered to the end customer.
  • Recognize the ways that supply chains link value chains.
  • Understand the influence of demand on the process design.
  • Understand the network of interconnected businesses involved in the ultimate provision of product and service packages required by end customers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to visualize the total process and aid in locating problem areas.
  • Responsible for executing supply plan
  • Responsible for maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to execute product development plan.
  • Manages the day to day tactical relationship with suppliers
  • Execute Procure to pay process including but not limited to releasing purchase orders, trouble shooting operational issues and resolving supplier invoice issues.

What You Will Need

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Two+ years of relevant experience in Tactical Purchasing or Supply Planning
  • AA or BA/BS degree preferred, but not required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular MS Excel
  • Previous ERP experience preferred

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
