Description

Position requires flexibility Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm and rotating Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm.

SUMMARY: Under the supervision and guidance of the assigned manager the Senior Teller accepts and processes transactions from the bank's customers by personal contact, mail, and night deposit. The incumbent provides assistance and guidance to other Teller(s). The Senior Teller also assists the manager with administrative functions. The incumbent may have limited override responsibilities. The Senior Teller must contribute to the achievement of branch goals by recognizing customer needs and referring customers to product specialists. Gaining knowledge of other areas in the bank and receiving cross-training to provide exceptional customer service is expected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Contribute to achievement of branch sales goals by engaging customers in discovery conversations to determine their product needs and referring customers to the appropriate product specialists.
  2. Deliver consistent exceptional customer service by displaying sincere, outgoing, and aggressive friendliness. Smiling, acknowledging every customer, introducing yourself, making eye contact, and thanking the customer are all examples.
  3. Provide guidance to tellers in complex customer transactions.
  4. Provide mentoring/job training to new tellers. Ensure new tellers follow procedures and policies.
  5. Resolve complex customer questions relating to account problems or cash differences on transactions.
  6. Assist manager with scheduling, audits, and other branch operational duties as assigned.
  7. Serve as back up for Vault functions.
  8. May perform overrides.
  9. May open new accounts if successfully completed FSR training (formerly DC Classes).
  10. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Two (2) years previous cash handling, and/or related experience in the financial services industry or equivalent experience required (Arvest experience is preferred)
  • 1 year previous sales experience required.
  • Successful completion of Teller School preferred.
  • Knowledge of banking operations and general accounting preferred.

  • Must be able to operate personal computer keyboard in order to create reports, schedules and other appropriate documentation

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and to talk and hear. The associate must occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
