The Principal Engineer, Electrical, is responsible for providing guidance/direction to a team of Engineers to the successful completion of projects. Assists in design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.


  • Designs, develops, analyzes, documents and supports testing of products, systems or subsystems
  • Provides guidance/direction to team of Engineers & Designers from Interns to Senior level
  • Implements designs successful in meeting technical, cost, weight and manufacturability requirements
  • Possesses a good mixture of analytical skills and hands-on abilities
  • Estimates own work, and sanity checks supporting team members' estimates
  • Reports progress and status in a concise manner
  • Available for limited travel as needed
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
Position Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program; Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; PE License, or ability to obtain PE License within 3 months of starting position, PE in Hawaii preferred


Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in an engineering environment including experience leading engineering personnel; Experienced with EMI design & testing on various materials including metals, plastics and fabrics; Electrical Design experience using Electrical Schematics, Wire Diagrams & Wire Lists; Electrical Layout in AutoCAD; Solid Modeling experience in SolidWorks is preferred; Electrical CAD experience in SolidWorks Electrical, or AutoCAD Electrical preferred; Product Data Management experience in EPDM or similar data management system is preferred


  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Possesses strong leadership ability
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
  • Possesses high attention to detail
  • Possess strong skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
