Description

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides technical assistance to local businesses, non-profits, and the public on best practices for infection prevention and control strategies related to COVID-19. Responsibilities include providing consultation and technical assistance in interpreting Public Health Orders, Guidelines and Recommendations.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Responds to inquiries and makes recommendations for prevention and response to COVID-19 in workplace settings.
  • Provides education and consultation on infection prevention and control to businesses, non-profits, and the public via phone and email.
  • Researches and prepares guidance on Public Health Orders, Guidelines, and Recommendations for planning, evaluation, and best practice strategies on operational implementation in workplace settings.
  • Coordinates exception requests for legal review pertaining to Public Health Orders.
  • Develops and conducts educational presentations and materials for businesses, non-profits, and the general public on prevention and control strategies to address COVID-19 in business settings.
  • Evaluates research and evidence-based practices and incorporate appropriate findings into routine practices.
  • Serve as a liaison and/or facilitator for other community planning activities by assisting the Town of Jackson and Teton County staff in reviewing Special Event logistics to ensure compliance with Public Health Orders.
  • Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, infectious diseases, or related field; AND three years’ work experience in a health, human service, or community-based organization; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Strong preference experience in stakeholder engagement, assessment, planning and/or evaluation.

 

Required Knowledge of:

  • Working knowledge of governmental structure and processes.
  • Principles and practices of investigations, tracking, and reporting.
  • Standard office practices and procedures, including filing and retrieval systems, correspondence formats and the operation of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to do research on a variety of issues and topics
  • Principles of record keeping, case management, records retention, and confidential records management.
  • English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, proofreading, and punctuation.
  • Ability to work effectively with other employees, agencies and the public.
  • Business computers, standard MS Office software applications, specialized software applications and internet technologies.

Required Skills in:

  • Working independently, maintaining composure and confidentiality, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
  • Interpreting and explaining policies and procedures of assigned department.
  • Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
  • Planning, prioritizing and completing assignments with minimum supervision.
  • Meeting critical time deadlines and writing complex reports and correspondence from brief instructions.
  • Providing effective customer service and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public.
  • Following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Building collaborative and effective working relationships with staff, outside agencies, and members of the public to meet mutual goals and objectives.
  • Applying discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

Other Requirements:

  • Successfully complete Wyoming Health Department HIPAA training.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment. Position may require sitting for lengthy periods of time.

Hiring Range $24.80/hr - $26.06/hr
