Job Title: Printing Helper

Position summary: The Printing Helper is a very hands-on position. The primary job of a Printing Helper will include but is not limited to and ink, cycle counting for inks, adhesives, catalyzers, and solvents in the designated location within the print and lamination department. Other duties involved with this position will include assisting in material moving, loading, and unloading cylinders into the press. Cleaning cylinders and press parts after print. Preparing doctor blades for press, disposing of hazardous waste (according to local, state, and federal requirements), perform quality testing, recordkeeping, cover breaks/lunches while complying with the production schedule and company policies and procedures. Effective communication should be established between the team members as well as with other shifts and direct supervisors. Ohio Pack adopted a “Clean as you Go” policy so all work areas should be kept clean, organized, and safe to comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Maintains product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality system.
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Keep print area and floor clean.
  • Ensure press has changeover parts ready.
  • Ensure work area is organized, labeled and clean.
  • Help with all setup activities as requested.
  • Manage non-inventory items.
  • Clean parts as needed.
  • Participate in various continuous improvement activities.
  • Be a part of corrective action teams as needed.
  • Report any potential food safety or quality of food defense concerns to the immediate supervisor or quality personnel.
  • Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
  • This is a safety sensitive position (drug test may be required)
  • Perform quality checks as needed.
  • Compile all the procedures needed to comply with OSHA’s regulations.
  • Complete all necessary production paperwork.
  • All other duties as required.

Shift: 7A-7P & 7P-7A

 

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications required:

  • 1 Year Manufacturing experience
  • Quality-oriented mindset
  • Willing and eager to learn.
  • Can work without supervision
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Qualifications desired:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing
  • Ability to perform basic data entry/computer skills.
  • Experience disposing of hazardous wastes.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.

Success factors/job competencies:

  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Exhibit good communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and trouble-shoot equipment.
  • Ensure all daily duties are performed in a safe manner and follow all company SOP’s.
  • Ensure press has required parts and is ready to run.
  • Ensure press has cylinders and is ready to run.
  • Ensure press has required spare parts cleaned and prepped for use.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with others and be a team player.
