Position Quality Control Officer  
Description

SUMMARY: Ensures that the system hardware deliverables are reliable and of high quality. Manages the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Proposes corrective actions to improve compliance with quality specifications. Recommends new or improved quality control methods, procedures, and/or standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops a Quality Control Program to ensure services are performed IAW this PWS.
  • Implement quality controls into the manufacturing process based on known deficiencies.
  • Ensure services are performed IAW commonly accepted OEM practices, Commercial Standards if Third Party is selected, and PWS requirements.
  • Develop and implement procedures to identify, prevent, and ensure non-recurrence of incomplete maintenance services.
  • The QC inspector uses both external and internal standard operating procedures (SOP), performance checklists, on-site performance monitoring, DoD regulations, and equipment technical manuals to confirm the findings of the initial assessment and ensure the correct parts are ordered.
  • Once the equipment is repaired or serviced, the QC Officer uses those same resources to inspect the quality of the service performed and verify that the equipment can be returned to the unit as fully mission capable (FMC).
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and currently possess active Secret clearance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree with seven years’ experience inspecting maintenance process outcomes and products. Experience with DoD maintenance contracts and/or military QC programs is a plus to identify issues and materials similar to the AN/TYQ-23A requirements. Five additional years’ experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree.

  • Excellent team attitude.
  • Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently without supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach. Able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
