Wage: $18.00 per hour

Position Summary:

As a Housekeeping Supervisor at Edgewood Tahoe, you supervise and coordinate activities of Guest Room Attendants and House Attendants. You assist with the day–to–day operations of all housekeeping. Your role is partially a room inspector; regularly inspects guest rooms, and guest corridors for cleanliness, appearance and to make sure these areas are kept as per the Hotel’s standard. You also participate in the cleaning of guest rooms. The most important characteristic of our team is that we love inspiring lasting memories for our guests. Essential Functions:

  • Professionally clean and maintain guest rooms and floor corridors using cleaning procedures and products as determined by company standards.
  • Neatly make beds, clean and disinfect, and replenish amenities according to the operational standards.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning cart as well as cart organization and cleanliness.
  • Assist with stocking linen/terry and amenities as well as maintain organization and cleanliness in housekeeping storage areas. Also ensure cleaning equipment is inspected daily.
  • Identify and report any damages to guest rooms.
  • Ensure security of guest rooms along with a high level of confidentiality and privacy of guests.
  • Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests, as needed.
  • Attend to guest calls as well as deliver and retrieve guest required items.
  • Perform a variety of deep cleaning duties and projects during slower business periods.
  • Show Initiative, Problem Solving, Staff Training, Team Leading.
  • Ensure all Maintenance work in Guestrooms are rectified prior to releasing rooms back to Front Desk.
  • Obtain list of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately & list of prospective checkouts or discharges in order to prepare work assignments.
  • Co-ordinate with Housekeeping Dispatch any/all room discrepancies.
  • Maintain clear and efficient communication and coordination with the Front Office and other departments of the hotel.
  • Manage turndown service procedures.
  • Assign/create daily work assignments throughout multiple shifts (Day & Swing Shift). And inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Schedule cleaning for corridors, elevators and elevator lobbies.
  • Investigate concerns regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and take corrective action.
  • Provide support to the Executive Housekeeper in all areas of Housekeeping operation, such as team member training, coaching, counseling and enforces to the Hotel’s standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in controlling expenses by the housekeeping department.
  • Confirm all housekeeping team members have arrived or find substitutes for absent employees.
  • Submit requests for repair and periodic maintenance of cleaning equipment.
  • Assist in taking the counts of the Monthly Linen Inventory.
  • Participate in hiring staff.
  • Ensure all housekeeping team members are fully trained and competent to fulfill the duties assigned.
  • Ensure all staff members are trained and receive regular updates on all risk assessments and safe operating procedures such as slip & fall, hazard communications, MSDS controls, and bed bug assessment training.
  • Observe and execute environmentally friendly practices.
  • Consistently achieve and/or exceed department standards on required number of daily room inspections preformed in HotSOS.
  • Stay in compliance with applicable health, safety, or hygiene standards.
  • Attend all necessary training for hotel department as scheduled. (ie. risk management and safety training)
  • Follow all MSDS, HazCom, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Bed Bug protocol.

Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly effective housekeeping professional with outstanding management skills and extensive hands-on experience in Housekeeping operations.
  • Minimum of 2 years with proven leadership experience in in Housekeeping is required.
  • Excellent Knowledge on of how to inspect properties.
  • Exceptional communications skills and commitment to providing excellent service to guests.
  • Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
